Foi lançada na mahã do dia 18, a programação para Porto Alegre do FSM 2010. O evento, ocorrido na sede Secretaria Extraordinária da Copa, no Centro, contou com a presença do vice-prefeito José Fortunati, do presidente da CUT-RS, Celso Wyciechowski, do representante da Associação Brasileira de ONGs (Abong), Mauri Cruz e do presidente da Força Sindical-RS, Cláudio Janta. Além deles, grande parte da mídia se fez presente. Na ocasião, foi salientado que o Centro é o território do Fórum Social Mundial em Porto Alegre. A ampla surpresa foi a grande quantidade de oficinas, são trezentas. Além disso, quem pára para analisar percebe que o Fórum em Porto Alegre não será apenas de quantidade e, sim, de muita qualidade.

Esta será a quinta vez que a Capital gaúcha receberá atividades do evento, que se tornou referência internacional em termos de reflexão sobre os problemas do mundo atual e as formas existentes de superá-los. Em 2010, Porto Alegre terá a missão de sediar a discussão sobre os avanços e os caminhos que o Fórum deverá ter a partir de agora. O Seminário Internacional “Dez anos depois: desafias e propostas para um outro mundo possível” reunirá intelectuais e pensadores de diversas partes do mundo e ocorrerá na Usina do Gasômetro, Cais Mauá, Câmara de Vereadores e Assembleia Legislaiva (veja programação e mapa na página central).

Quem pensa que a ideia de trazer o Fórum foi de última hora se engana. Na coletiva de lançamento da programação, o vice-prefeito salientou: “Em novembro de 2008 começamos a pensar em trazer o Fórum Social Mundial para Porto Alegre. Em maio de 2009 o comitê gestor do Fórum decidiu: aqui deveria ser o local dos 10 anos”. A partir daí, a Prefeitura ficou encarregada pela infra-estrutura. Além de investir algo em torno de 2 milhões de reais, o Governo Municipal solicitou ao Estado as locações dos armazéns 6 e 7 do Cais Mauá. Ainda para o Fórum, o DMLU incrementará o número de garis no Centro. Mauri Cruz, da Abong, identificou corretamente o FSM como um evento da cidade, e não de apenas um partido: “Trazer de volta o evento foi uma das formas de mostrar que o Fórum Social Mundial não era de um governo, mas da sociedade porto-alegrense. Além disso, em janeiro, ou tem o Fórum ou não tem nada em Porto Alegre. Por isso pensamos em no próximo ano continuarmos com algumas agendas para preparar membros da sociedade que queiram ir ao Fórum Social Mundial em Dacar, no Senegal”.

Para fazer história, nada mais justo que os dez anos do evento sejam discutidos aqui, no Centro Histórico, o território do Fórum Social Mundial 10.

It was launched in the morning of the 18th, the programming for the WSF2010 in Porto Alegre.The event which occurred at the Secretaria Extraordinária da Copa, in the center of the city, counted with the presence of the vice-mayor José Fortunati, the president of CUT-RS (Central Única dos Trabalhadores), Celso Wyciechowski, the representant of the ONGs Brazilian Association (Abong), Mauri Cruz and Claudio Janta, who is the Workers’ Union president. Besides them,great part of the media was present. In the occasion,it was pointed out that the Center is the territory of the WSF in Porto Alegre. The great surprise was the immense number of offices, they are three hundreds. Besides, we can analyse that the Forum in Porto Alegre will not only be of quantity, but much quality.

This will be the 5th time that the Capital receives activities of this event that became an international reference in therms of reflexion about the problems of the present world and ways to surpass them. In 2010, Porto Alegre will have the mission of hosting the discussion about the advances and the routes that the Forum should have from now on the International Seminary “Ten years after-Challenges and proposals for another world possible” will reunite schoolars and thinkers of several parts of the world and it will happen at Usina do Gasometro, Cais Mauá (Maua Quay), Câmara de Vereadores and Assembleia Legislativa. Who thinks the idea of bringing the Forum was a last hour thing, is mistaken. During the collective interview of program lauching, the vice-mayor pointed out: “In November of 2008 we began to think about bringing the Forum to Porto Alegre. In May, 2009, the Forum managing committee decided: this is the place for the 10th year”.

SindBancários celebrates birthday discussing the World Social Forum

O SindBancários realizou uma atividade especial para comemorar seus 77 anos. Segunda, dia 18 de janeiro, a Casa dos Bancários recebeu convidados, prefeitos e a coordenação do Fórum Social Mundial 2010. Na oportunidade também foi apresentada a programação do evento, que volta a ser realizado em Porto Alegre e em conjunto com as cidades de Gravataí, Canoas, São Leopoldo, Novo Hamburgo e Sapiranga.
As comemorações tiveram início com a exibição do documentário “Os 30 anos da Greve Proibida”, de Hique Montanari, que abordou as mobilizações de 1979, quando a greve dos bancários gaúchos desafiou a Ditadura Militar e contribuiu para a construção de um movimento sindical combativo.
Em seguida, a Casa dos Bancários foi palco da apresentação da programação do FSM e de um debate com os prefeitos da região que sediarão as atividades. Estavam presentes o vice-prefeito José Fortunatti (Porto Alegre), e os prefeitos Jairo Jorge (Canoas), Ary Vanazzi (São Leopoldo), Vilmar Ballin (Sapucaia do Sul), assim como Oded Grajew, um dos idealizadores e integrante do Conselho Internacional do FSM.
A Casa dos Bancários será Território Social Mundial do Fórum. Além de atividades relacionadas ao evento, sediará a oficina Um Novo Sistema Financeiro é Possível, dia 27, com a presença dos economistas Susan George e Carlos Eduardo Carvalho. O CineBancários (sala de cinema da casa) sediará o Ciclo Outros Mundos, com uma programação especial e com entrada franca.

The SindBancários held a special activity to celebrate its 77 years. Monday, January 18th, the Banking House received guests, mayors and coordination of the World Social Forum 2010.
On the occasion was also presented the schedule of the event, which will be held again in Porto Alegre and together with the cities of Gravataí, Canoas, São Leopoldo, Novo Hamburgo and Sapiranga.
The celebrations began with the exhibition of the documentary “The 30 years of the forbidden strike”, from Hique Montanari, who approached the mobilizations in 1979, when the strike of the gauchos bank clerks challenged the military dictatorship and contributed to the construction of a militant labor movement.
Then, the Banking House was the scene of the schedule presentation of the WSF and a debate with the mayors of the region which will host the activities.
Present were Vice-Mayor Jose Fortunatti (Porto Alegre), and the mayors Jairo Jorge (Canoas), Ary Vanazzi (São Leopoldo), Vilmar Ballin (South Sapucaia) and Oded Grajew, one of the creators and a member of the International Council of WSF.
The Banking House will be the World Social Forum Territory. In addition to activities related to the event, a New Financial System is Possible will host the workshop, 27th, with the presence of the economists Susan George and Carlos Eduardo Carvalho.
The CineBancários (cinema house) will host the Other Worlds Cycle with a special schedule and free admission. The SindBan-cários located at Rua General Câmara, 424.
